Following the opening of the Cyprus Pavilion and for the duration of the Biennale, a Vigil Workspace was integrated within the exhibition, reconfiguring the labour of invigilation — a seemingly passive art
world gig — into an active motor of the project. Invited researchers and practitioners along with the exhibiting artists, were prompted to hold a space of remembrance, reflecting on bodily presence, rituals of vigil
and the politics of remaining vigilant today.
